3 Aug 2008 7:40Dearest Kate,I know the chances of you seeing this are very slim . . . My original wish was to send you a very very Happy Birthday greeting for your 50th. I turn the same in a week and I am a fellow musician from Oregon and huge fan. I had many thoughts and praises I wanted to share with you on this very special birthday but was very sad to hear about the loss of your father as I only just found out today. I have been working and away from my pc for a few days so the late birthday wish. When I discovered your loss, it made what I wanted to say pale and so I just say this . . . I am so sorry for your loss but know that along with me, many many people love and care about you so much and only wish the best for you with the deepest of respect and wish you strength and love through yet another very difficult time in your life. I hope this brings at least a little warmth and comfort to you. I know in my heart that you will see your folks again some day and others you have lost. Thank you so very much for everything you have given of yourself to all of us who did not know you but have come to know you over time and grown to love you. What an amazingly beautiful woman and human being! Don't know what else to say at the moment except I wish there was something I could do to take some of your pain away. You have given me so much magic in my life and so many others. I heard Hounds of Love tonight on the radio on the way to work just a little while ago and then, was shocked when I arrived and saw the news. I know God and your loved ones are watching over you. 14 May 2008 19:12SWIRLY LEAVESwatercolor dried under curved wrinkles of plastic wrap and salt on the damp watercolor that crystalizes for an added texture. Painting with watercolor has to be done on what is called a watercolor block. It's sealed around the edges to keep the papper from wrinkling and warping as the wet papper dries. Once dry, the layer of papper is removed around the edges with a butter knife. BACK SCRATCH The first layer was gesso textured in lines by using a ribbed tooth brush, dried before applying layers of watercolor. FIRE PLANT watercolor. It was hard blending the background with a cool color to make the plant in a warm color stand out, painting the background to blend lighter around the already painted FIRE PLANT. I was told that it's amazing that I have work show only some of the object to leave the rest for the eye of the observer of the piece. |
